Saten Kunkhyab Ling (Shedra)

After passing class eight, they are initiated into advanced ritual practices and Buddhist philosophy. Saten Kunkhyab Ling was established in 2002 to open doorway for the alumni of Shree Mahakaruna Sakyapa Vidhalaya to further pursue education in advanced Buddhist philosophy. A strong wish of our former Khen Rinpoche, the Late Jampa Tashi Tenzin Rinpoche the presence of the senior monks at the hometown helps strengthen Tibetan culture in Upper Mustang.

After four years of pursuing Buddhist philosophy at Saten Kunkhyab Ling, the students obtained Madhyamika level equivalent to the general 12th standard. Then, they may join higher institutes of learning in India. Currently, a stronghold of 15 alumni has been pursuing advanced Buddhist philosophy at Sakya College and Dzongsar Institute in India since 2008.
